SHOWCASE TEXAS POKER is a 10 week competition, you may wish to play for fun or you may try to qualify for the Final, where $10,000 in prizes (of your choice) can be won – $7.000 for First, $2,000 for 2nd and $1,000 for 3rd. The nightly winner receives a prize (as supplied by Venue) and the top 10 players receive additional points.

THE POINTS ARE AWARDED AS FOLLOWS: On the night each registered player starts with $ 2000 in chips and will receive 50 points for playing. Finishing in 10th – extra 100 pts 9th – extra 200 pts 8th – extra 300 pts 7th – extra 400 pts 6th – extra 500 pts 5th – extra 600 pts 4th – extra 700 pts 3rd – extra 800 pts 2nd – extra 900 pts Winner on night - extra 1000 pts.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL a player must finish in the top 15 (or 20*) for that venue. You will gain extra points for playing at other Showcase Texas Poker Venues, any points won at another venue are added to the venue you have registered at, identified as per the registration number on your card.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL you MUST have played at least 4 games at your registered venue. The final is played on 1 (usually a Sunday) day at the end of the ten weeks. FIRST OUT – maybe not On regular venue nights we have a HIGH CARD CHALLENGE For the first player out on the night, they will get to challenge the Venue Director in a game of High Card, if they select a card higher than the director, the player remains in the game and will receive equal to the lowest chip stack on the table or $1000 which ever is lowest, and remain in the game.

BONUS POTS. Each regular venue night, there will be 2 bonus pots. Only players sitting a the table can win any of the Bonus hands.

Number 1 – “ OPEN HAND Bonus” Played during the first blind at each table, an open hand will be played where no chips are bet by the players, but $1000 in chips will be in the POT available to the player with the winning hand. (as per usual rules the pot may end up being split)

Number 2 – “Beat the Directors Hand” Played after the first break, a player wishing to play will have to bet $100 in chips to play, then cards are dealt face up and a hand to the venue director, if your hand beats the directors hand the director will multiple your bet x10 so you win $1000 extra in chips. If your hand does not beat that of the director you lose your $100 in chips.

TURBO TABLES AND WILD CARD DRAWS

If less than 19 players are registered on the night no wild card draw and no Turbo table

If 20 – 35 players registered on the night there will be a wild card draw, the draw will be of the players who are not in the final 10, and the drawn player will then be placed back into the game in the top 10 and will receive 75% of the lowest chip stack of the remaining top 10 players. The points awarded to that player when out will be that equal to that of the previous player/position. (the wild card can win the event)

36 or more players registered on the night, there will one turbo table for the first 8 players who are out and sit at the table, will play, the winner will receive an extra 100 points for the night. We will draw for the wild card as above to go in the top 10. All players who played at the turbo table will be eligible for he wild card draw.

START TIMES This is the scheduled time for the game to begin, any players registering at or after the start time will have $500 deducted from their starting chips, unless they have notified the director at least 15 mins prior to the start time. NO PLAYER CAN REGISTER any later the 5 MINS after the scheduled start time. Abusive, Offensive play and/or Swearing during the game WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, and you will be asked to leave.

FAQ – RULES & BLINDS

The Dealer MUST either shuffle or Wash the cards before dealing

Dealer MUST offer the Player to their Left the choice of cutting the cards, they do not have to and there is no limit of the number of cards if they do.

If a card is turned over, or a miss deal, ALL CARDS must be shuffled and Re-dealt again.

Players must call in TURN

If a player calls or places their chips over the bet line, which ever is first THAT IS THE BET.

If a player calls out of turn they will be committed to the Bet/Play stated.

Minimum bet is that of the BIG Blind.

RAISING – if raising a bet before the FLOP the bet must be at least double that of the BIG BLIND, that is if blinds are $50 and $100, to raise a player would have to bet at least $200. After the flop, raise may be any amount higher than the BIG BLIND.

Blinds start at $50 & $100 (20 mins), $100 - $200 (20 mins) 15 min break, $200 - $400 (15 mins) , $300 - $600 (15 mins) $400 - $800 (15 mins) 10 Min Break $500 - $1000 ( 10 mins) $1000 - $2000 ( 10 mins) and will increase every 5 mins from then PLEASE NOTE, questions, disputes or clarification required PLEASE see your tournament Director.
